SMILE:
The Parents Association ‘SMILE’ is the official body representing all parents at St Mark’s School. SMILE aims to :
- Support the welfare of the school community by holding “Little Events” that promote involvement and fun for the whole school.
- Raise funds by supporting the little events throughout the year that benefit the school community.
- Enable Parents, caregivers, teachers and children to engage in a connected community.
Committee meetings are held during term time on the first Friday of the month. They start at 8:20 a.m. and are held in the School Staff Room. All parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.
The SMILE team supports the School in various ways, including welcoming new families to St Mark’s, hosting daytime parent functions, catering for special events, fundraising and providing resources for the School. The SMILE Team coordinates significant fundraising events throughout the year; please see the planned 2024 events. We are perhaps most well-known to the children for organising special activities, including Cupcake Day, Sausage Sizzles and Matariki.
SMILE is a lot of fun and little work. You can be involved as much or as little as you like. We would love to welcome you to a meeting. Parents should first contact their child’s teacher if they wish to discuss any issues with their child at school or how the school is run.

Class Coordinators:
Class Coordinators at St Mark’s are parent volunteers from each class or year group whose primary role is to support the classroom teacher in their communications. They help staff by coordinating communication between teachers and parents, organising class events and welcoming new parents and families who arrive at St Mark’s during the school year. Many Class Coordinators organise social activities for both students and parents for their classes. They also support the SMILE team by assisting with annual fundraising.
